The Rise of the Phoenix?

After a long period of convalescence, Citadel High School's premier news outlet, the Trollope Times, has started up again for the new school year. Branded by its critics as the "failing Trollope Times", it was surrounded by a miasma of doubt for the last few months.

However, the smoke has cleared, and a new team has emerged from the ashes of summer 2018. The Times has increased its already massive payroll in order to include writers such as Olivia Falkenhammulti sport superstar athlete and Students' Council secretary, part-time playboy and full-time Waeg chef Owen Kavanagh, the dynamic sibling duo of Maxie and Theodore Grant of Family Renovation fame, Times readers' favourite Andrew "Drysy" Drysdale, and a host of rookie reporters such as William Allen-Rawding and Eshan Arora

The Times this year has set an ambitious goal for itself: continue to publish interesting and worthwhile stories that cover local and global issues, among others. The Times aims to have its most successful year yet, with the intent of covering more topics than ever before, like sports, politics, travel, music, tips for school, and everything in between.

It remains to be seen, though, if the Times can withstand the onslaught of "Shocktober" and "Deathcember", which will likely take away most, if not all, of the time of the IB writers. That being said, the Times has faced adversity in the past and continued to thrive, and this year will be no different. It will, no doubt, still face criticism from pundits across the HRCE, and be denounced as "Fake News" by its numerous haters and trolls that roam the halls of CPA and Halifax West, but the Tollope Times has an exciting year ahead.
