Biden’s Top Ten Executive Orders from Week One
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were sworn in as President and Vice-President a little over one week ago. Politicians and performers dressed to impress at the inauguration (namely fashion icon @berniesanders), and put on a powerful ceremony.
As soon as the formalities were over, Biden wasted no time in making significant changes in America. Here is a list of Biden’s top ten executive orders from his first week in office.
Rejoined the Paris Climate Accord.
Canceled the XL Keystone Pipeline.
Stopped the United States’ withdrawal from the World Health Organization.
Launched the “100 day mask challenge” which includes orders which mandate masks and distancing on federal property and public transport.
Established the Pandemic Testing Board to improve testing capacity.
Created the Covid-19 Health Equity Task force to ensure a just pandemic response.
Reversed Trump’s ban on Transgender people serving in the military.
Signed order Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation.
Halted the construction of the border wall.
Reversed the travel ban on seven Muslim-majority countries.
