Easy Ways to Spread Kindness this Holiday Season

This year has been stressful for just about everyone! Amidst all of the craziness with holiday shopping and preparation, make sure you take a little bit of time to make someone smile, even if it is just behind their masks! A little kindness goes a long way. Here are some simple ways to spread kindness this holiday season:

Compliment your loved ones... or even a stranger - if you like someone’s outfit, just tell them. It takes nothing from you, and could mean a lot to somebody.

Pay for the person behind you in the drive thru - next time you go to Tims, ask how much the order behind you costs. If it is not too expensive, pay for them! Leave them the best surprise for when they drive up to the window!

Call a friend or a family member that you haven’t spoken to in a long time - make sure you check up on those that you might have lost track of during these busy times. Who knows, a phone call might be just what they need this week - especially if you aren’t able to be together in person this year.

Text a friend or family member and tell them how much you appreciate them - we would be nowhere without our support system, so make sure they know they are loved by you.

Leave nice comments on people’s instagram posts - it can take a lot for someone to put themselves out there on social media. Take a little bit of time to leave a confidence boosting comment on a post you see while you’re scrolling, even if you don’t know the user.

Clean out your room to see if there are any clothes or items you could donate - do some research and find local charities that are accepting donations this holiday season. Then do some digging in your room and see what you do not need anymore!

Shop local - Local shops are 100% more excited about your purchase than you are. This pandemic has not been easy for small businesses and we need to support them. So give them the joy they deserve!

Remember to be kind to yourself as well and take some time to relax. You deserve it.
